"Max was born on the 16-04-09 @ 32wk after a difficult pregnancy, initially they thought he had a problem with his kidneys which would require medication, After lots of tests it was clear he had some problems with his bowels. He spent time in 4 different hospital & then was finally diagnosed @ 4wks old as having Hirschsprungs disease. He had his 1st Stoma formed & he had this until he was 10months old.

We had his 1st reversal surgery @ 10months but sadly after 6 weeks his bowels stopped working, fast forward to 2 years old after lots of other failed treatments we decided Max should have a new stoma formed, The new stoma is for 3 to 5 years.

Max is now nearly 3 years old, funny, naughty, bright but most important happy.

He goes to a mainstream nursery in Hereford & enjoys all activities as any other toddler would, along the way he has also had a few challenges with his walking as he was diagnosed with hypotonic lower limb @ 18months old & received intensive physio & hydrotherapy he finally walked @ 2 years old.

All in all it's been a very challenging few years but we have been lucky enough as a family to meet some amazing people from Breakaway. We have attended a weekend as guests & found the other children very inspiring, After coming home we decided we would arrange a ball to help Breakaway continue the brilliant work.
