I'm loosing weight for Breakaway !
I aim to loose 20lbs between 2nd January 2012 and the 10th May 2012 to raise money for a charity very close to my heart - Breakaway. www.Breakaway-visits.co.uk
I am a Trustee of Breakaway and a Specialist Paediatric Stoma Care and Bowel Management Nurse.I've seen how Breakaway can make a difference to the children and their families.It's great to watch the children have fun, make friends,gain confidence and self esteem at Breakaway. So no more chocolate or cheese for me !!! .
As Bowel and bladder problems are topics not openly discussed in public, some children grow up feeling ashamed and worried and having to keep their condition a secret. These children have to deal with their problems, often behind closed doors and feeling totally isolated from their peers.
By society they are not deemed to be brave or courageous.
At Breakaway we believe differently.
By providing Breakaway activity weekends and developing family support networks throughout the UK, we offer the opportunity for the children (and their families) to realise that they are not alone.
Please help me to make a difference. Breakaway is run by volunteers, every penny donated really does make a difference.
